What We Do and Why We Do It

“California Fair Services Authority (CFSA) delivers efficient and cost-effective risk management, insurance and business solutions services through a flexible and responsive partnership with our member fairs.”

Integrity – Dependability – Excellence in Service – Communication – Expertise – Collaboration – Innovation. These core values are the guiding principles behind everything we do, the programs and services we offer, our culture and our vision. They are the benchmarks to which every employee at CFSA and CFSA as a whole are held accountable. It’s how we do business!

California Fair Services Authority (CFSA) is a joint powers authority (JPA) created to manage and administer risk sharing pool programs for California’s fairs. (There are 78 active fairgrounds in California). CFSA currently manages four pooled programs for the fairs: workers’ compensation, general liability, special events and revenue protection.

Since our formation in 1986, as our member fairs’ needs have grown, so has the depth and scope of our services offerings. Today, along with our full-service risk management program and in-house claims handling, CFSA also provides accounting, benefit administration and business support services, including strategic planning.

A large part of our responsibility as a risk pool manager is to help pool participants maintain fairgrounds that are safe for employees and visitors alike. We do this with a comprehensive, year-round risk-control program providing mobile equipment certifications, employee training and inspection programs, Title 8 Cal/OSHA workplace safety program development, and special events training and inspection programs. All provided at no additional cost to pool participants.

CFSA is member driven! By working together, we can make opportunity happen!
