You now have your choice of receiving an e-mail copy or a hard copy each time a revised list is available. Beginning June 2005, the Master Insurance List will also be available here, on our Web site (accessible through Adobe Acrobat Reader). If your fair is still receiving a hard copy but would like to receive e-mail copies of the Master Insurance Certificate List, you just need to let CFSA know what e-mail address you would like us to use.
Offered here is an updated listing of vendors/contractors seeking to do business with State supported fairs who have approved master certificates on file at CFSA for various events or activities (including hazardous) that require outside commercial insurance coverage.
Please note that the carnival operators are now included as the last section of the Master Insurance List. A few of the carnival operators listed are “approved for interim events only”. This means they only have $2,000,000 in General Liability limits. All other carnival operators have $5,000,000 per occurrence General Liability limits as required per CFSA’s Insurance Requirements. The Carnival Master List meets CFSA’s Insurance requirements but may not meet all requirements for the Division of Fairs and Expositions Early-Qualification Specifications.
A master insurance certificate establishes a contractor’s proof of liability insurance for every new contract within a one year period. CFSA recommends that fairs encourage contractors to obtain master insurance certificates whenever possible. All master certificates (including hazardous) will be kept on file at CFSA, and we are now responsible for updating and distributing the “Master Insurance Certificate List” for all activities. When a contractor has a master certificate on file with CFSA ~ and the contract requires the Division of Fairs and Expositions’ approval ~ submit a copy of the approval listing from CFSA as part of the contract package.
Your new combined Master Insurance List is “Blue” and all vendors/contractors for hazardous activities appear at the back of the list all in “Blue”. Also, please note that the addition of asterisks (**CFSA ###**) to the existing CFSA numbers indicates that California Exposition and State Fair has been included as an additional insured on that particular vendor/contractor’s certificate.
In the event a contractor does not appear on the combined Master Insurance List and they feel they have been mistakenly omitted, please call our office at (916) 263-6145 to determine the status of their certificate approval. Otherwise, please follow your normal procedure of obtaining a certificate of insurance from each vendor/contractor not on the list for your files. Please be sure to check the policy dates to verify coverage during your event including set up and take down days if required.
