Fairtime is Even More Fun and Educational with Exhibits from the Del Mar Fair
The Del Mar Fair has crafted a collection of five multi-paneled educational exhibits
available to other fairs for rent or purchase. All you need to do to reserve or order an
exhibit is send or fax a letter to Michelle Kinney, 619/755-1161, fax 619/481-7338, listing,
in order of preference, the exhibits you desire, along with the dates of your fair.
(Exhibits for purchase require a six-month production lead time.) These exhibits are in
high demand and availability is limited, so place your requests early. Exhibits include:*
“A Year in the Life of a Dairy Cow” features photos and facts about
the milking process, how milk gets to the supermarket, and the variety of dairy products
available.
| “The Life & Times of a Pig” exhibit features photos and facts detailing
the history of pig farming, swine by-products, breeds, and much more.
|
“Horses Through Time” highlights the evolution of the horse, taking
fair visitors back 50,000 years to the five-toed forest dwelling animal and showing how
evolution “built” the perfect horse.
|
“Sheep and Ewe” features a variety of facts fair visitors will find
interesting about the sheep industry. This exhibit takes a hands-on approach to tell the
story of wool from sheep to fabric.
|
"Feathered Friends" comes with poultry and egg-shaped cutouts providing fascinating
information about poultry by-products, and meat and egg consumption. Colorful photos tell
the story of egg processing, hen house to grocery store.
