Position Title:
Electrician I

Exempt/Non-Exempt Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Facilities Supervisor

Salary range: $4,435.00 – $5,110.00 per month (wage based on qualifications and experience)

Position Purpose:
Under general direction, performs installation and repair of electrical equipment, trouble shoot electrical systems, maintain an electric shop; may instruct, lead workers, and independent performance of a wide variety of skilled maintenance tasks.

Essential Functions:
Follow CAL OSHA standards, including reporting any unsafe condition to the Maintenance Supervisor as required by the OC Fair & Event Center Safety Policies in order to keep a safe working environment. 
– Plan, coordinate and implement the OC Fair & Event Center Underground Infrastructure Preventative Maintenance Program, using the Standard Operating Procedure, in order to address the issue in an efficient manner and document the outcome, as requested by the Maintenance Supervisor. 
– Maintain all electrical fixtures, interior and exterior by planning, coordinating and implementing the OC Fair & Event Center building infrastructure Preventative Maintenance Program, in order to address the issue in an efficient manner and document the outcome as requested by the Maintenance Supervisor. 
– Implement the electrical responsibilities, as required by Title 19 Compliance, in order to comply with the State mandated requirement and the OC Fair & Event Center Risk Management. 
– Provide a high level of customer service by following the company’s core values (e.g. safety, excellence, integrity, people and community enrichment) when dealing with internal or external customers so that we may achieve a 100 % customer satisfaction rating. 
– Repair underground utilities, due to unforeseen issues (e.g., replace parts), using machinery and tools, in order to complete the assigned project and meet the needs of the OC Fair & Event Center. 
– Install underground utilities, utilizing machinery and tools, in order to complete the assigned project, and meet the needs of the OC Fair & Event Center. 
– Develop, coordinate and implement methods of electrical work for new construction projects, using the Project Management Protocol, to maintain deadlines, as well as a high standard of quality as requested by the Maintenance Supervisor. 
– Maintain proper electrical inventory control by utilizing the Budget Manager Document, in order to sustain the budget and report any discrepancies to the Maintenance Supervisor. 
– Research new electrical products currently in the market (e.g. online, in-store or otherwise), that will support the OC Fair & Event Center Energy Management Program, in order to meet the OC Fair and Event Center’s sustainability needs. 
– Provide quality control for employees, vendors and contractors through the utilization of the Three Step Quality Control Program, in order to achieve an acceptable product, as approved by the Maintenance Supervisor. 
– Develop the annual electrical budget, through utilization of the Budget Request Documentation to correctly submit by the date specified on an annual basis. 
– Plan, coordinate and implement the essential electrical power needs and functions of the Event Operation Department, using Information Sheets and Operation Lists, to maintain the Facilities Department’s schedule and high quality standard, under the supervision of the Events and Operations Supervisor. 
– Procure heavy equipment rentals for the Electrical Department, through the utilization of the OC Fair & Event Center purchasing program, in order to comply with State Requirements, as requested by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Heroes Hall Supervisor (Deputy Manager I)

Reports to: Director, Exhibits & Education
Supervises:  Volunteer Docents, PT Administrative Staff, PT Exhibit Curator

Salary range: $4,705.00 – $5,845.00 per month, plus 15% recruitment and retention differential

Position Purpose:
Under direction, serves as a member of the District’s operations management team to supervise the operations of Heroes Hall museum and education center, and plan, develop and execute community education programs to promote Heroes Hall and veterans interests.

Essential Functions:
Working within an established budget, oversee the operations of the Heroes Hall museum and community center and develop exhibits and programming that engages the public in understanding veterans’ stories and interests.
– Oversee the work of a curator who will develop rotating exhibitions and/or acquire traveling and loaned exhibits.
– Promote Heroes Hall and OC Fair & Event Center in the community by developing positive and productive relationships with veterans groups, educational partners and community leaders.

Position Title:
Landscape Supervisor 

Exempt/Non-Exempt Status: Exempt
Reports to: Facilities Director
Supervises: Facilities

Salary range: $4,705.00 – $5,845.00, plus 15%  recruitment  and retention

Position Purpose:
Under general direction, organizes, monitors and supervises the operations of the landscaping within the Facilities Department; performs a variety of technical tasks relative to landscaping maintenance and operations of our fairgrounds in support of the OC Fair & Event Center’s mission statement.

Essential Functions:
– Plan, prioritize and assign daily tasks of staff  responsible for landscape maintenance operations, to ensure that the facility is being well maintained and to inform the supervisors where employees are stationed by using the landscape quadrant map and job board. 
– Establish schedules and methods for providing landscape maintenance services such as using Excel for scheduling and out sourcing soils testing under the direction of the Facility Director. 
– Participate in the development of goals (e.g. SMART goals) and objectives to ensure the Landscape Department is up-to-date with current guidelines (e.g. Occupational Safety and Health Administration) in accordance to the OC Fair & Event Center’s workplace policies.
– Participate in the implementation of approved policies and procedures to ensure that staff is working safely and respectfully with other employees in accordance to the OC Fair & Event Center’s workplace policies (e.g., employee manual, OSHA regulations). 
– Participate in the recruitment of staff through job advertising, word of mouth, and internet searching to build a strong, stable and well-rounded department under the direction of the Facility Manager. 
– Provide and coordinate staff training (e.g., online classes, OSHA training, lawn care maintenance, guest speakers) to build a safe, stable and well-rounded department under the direction of the Facility Director. 
– Coach employees to correct performance, in a respectful manner, and document the performance/coaching sessions in order to escalate the issue to the Human Resources Department if needed. 
– Implement disciplinary procedures (e.g., tardiness to work, not performing job assigned duties or tasks) under the direction of the Facility director, as needed.
