CFSA’s Board of Directors and Revenue Protection Program Committee Elections are Next Month

9/19/2018

This year, CFSA’s fall election has drawn one of the largest pools of highly-qualified candidates in CFSA’s election history. Ballots to fill seats on both the CFSA board of directors and on the Revenue Protection Program Committee will be emailed to pool- and program-member fairs by Monday, October 8; due back to CFSA by Monday, October 22.

Up for election are two seats on CFSA’s board of directors – one representing fair classes I and II, and one representing fair classes III – VII. Participants in the Revenue Protection Program will also be voting to elect a fair representative and two alternates for the Revenue Protection Program’s Claims Committee. This committee meets as needed throughout the year to review submitted claims in accordance with claims adjustment procedures as specified by the program’s memorandum of coverage.

Election results will be announced the week of October 22. New board and committee members will take office on January 1, 2019.

Stephen J. Kenny, CEO of the Butte County Fair, Joins CFSA Board of Directors

Please join us in welcoming Stephen J. Kenny, CEO of the Butte County Fair, to the CFSA board of directors. Kenny was elected by CFSA Class I and II member fairs as their representative to complete the final two years of retiring board member John Scurfield’s four-year term. Director Scurfield, CEO of the Chowchilla-Madera County Fair & Event Center, resigned from the board in August pending his retirement from the fair.

Director Kenny’s service on the board began as of September 8 and his first CFSA board meeting will be on Thursday, October 6. His term will run through December 31, 2018.

In an announcement to all CFSA member fairs, Board Chair Brian Bullis, CEO of the Mariposa County Fair & Exposition Center and CFSA Nominating Committee Chair, thanked Scurfield for his valuable contributions to the board during the past two years and wished him the best of luck in his future endeavors.
